Meet the team

Simon J Thackeray BDS (Practice Principal)

Simon is a committed Clinician, not only has he undertaken further training in clinical techniques, he is also involved in the training of both dentists and dental students. He is currently a Clinical teacher at Sheffield University, teaching undergraduate dental students many of the modern techniques employed in day to day practice.

Simon has many hobbies, which includes photography and has also renewed passion for music, recently becoming the drummer in a local band.

Gillian Y Wills BDS

Gill qualified in 1991 at Sheffield University and joined the practice in early 1998, having previously worked in practices at Chesterfield and Sheffield.

Gill is constantly updating herself with the latest techniques and has a wonderful approach with the more nervous patient.

A mother of two Gill enjoys nothing more than supporting and encouraging her boys in a variety of sports. In her spare time, she enjoys attending art shows and herself is a keen artist and gardener.

Duncan J Park BDS (Hons)

Duncan currently holds a staff grade position at Barnsley District General Hospital, which along with his commitment to postgraduate training, ensures he keeps up-to-date with any new advances and techniques.

Duncan's main interest within surgical dentistry is the provision of dental implants and we are happy to offer this service at the practice.

During Duncan's spare time, he is a keen rugby player and participates as part of a team. So don't be surprised if you see the occasional bruise or black eye.

Leanne Simpson - Hygienist/Therapist Dip DH/T

Leanne is a dental hygienist and is also qualified to do dental therapy work. She is passionate about dental education and believes prevention is always better than cure.

A mother of two boys, Leanne's weekend are very busy with the various sporting clubs her sons are involved with.

Jennifer Smith - Practice Manager

Jennifer started work here as a dental nurse and has worked her way up to senior dental nurse and is now the practice manager, this has given her a good understanding of all aspects of the practice. Jen has many hobbies including cooking and socialising.

Reception/dental nurses

Our team of reception/dental nurses are committed to providing you with a top-notch customer service experience, to make your visit as comfortable as possible. They are an outgoing bunch who love their team evenings out and having fun, which they feel makes them a strong team.
